CSI receives 2010 ISES DC Capital Award for Best Corporate Event!
"Sometimes the best parties take to the streets!"
CSI was honored with the Capital Award for Best Corporate Event at the 15th Annual Capital Awards Gala, which was held on April 11th, for its uniquely innovative Urban Dare themed party held last May. Over 3,000 guests were feted for their closing night at DC’s largest nightclub Club Love where CSI produced a four-story playground of edgy entertainment, urban performers and fun food. Urban Dare was an around-the-world street party, celebrating NYC’s Times Square, Barcelona’s Ramblas, Tokyo’s Shibuya district and Ibiza’s Café Del Mar, where hip crowds gather every afternoon to watch the sunset.
Here’s a drive-by snapshot of this award-winning night:
Club Love was packed full of interactive entertainment booked after an exhaustive search for the unusual. Myachi Masters taught guests a trick sport involving beanbags and martial arts. Award winning DJ Roonie G. was flown in from NYC to showcase his incredible video mixologist talents. Black Violin performed their sharp blend of classical violin and funk/rap. A graffiti artist painted a huge backdrop on stage as guests arrived, finishing just in time for the national headliner act, E3 to perform. Aluminum-covered buffet blocks were cleared off after dinner and converted into dance platforms for urban rockers – dancers in ripped jeans and Converse All Stars...just edgy enough to motivate the crowd!
CSI designed street-themed décor that was fantastic! We covered the Club's columns in graffiti panels tagged with positive vibes such as "Love is like the sun — it always shines." Ottomans were also graffiti-covered and aluminum buffet cubes gave an industrial look. The Tokyo floor was transformed with paper lanterns and an existing glass garage door was covered with a transparent Anime custom drawing to let the outside lights shine through.
Street food samplings progressed on each floor — from NYC style street vendor food to European charcuterie and café fare to Sushi and quick Asian bites to fish tacos with rice and beans.
