CSI provided event management for special events associated with the Mid-Atlantic segment of the 37,000-mile International Volvo Ocean Race that began in Sanxenxo, Spain and ended in Gothenburg, Sweden. Stopping in Annapolis and Baltimore, CSI coordinated a variety of race-related events and dinners for the Volvo community attending as well as providing hotel management services during their stay.

CSI received international recognition for its contribution to the Annapolis/Baltimore stop-offs and provided an opportunity to show off what these coastal cities could offer to the business and travel communities. The final result was that it was reported that this segment of the race proved to be the most inviting to guests and that CSI had provided a truly heartwarming experience in Chesapeake maritime hospitality.
