Professional Tour Guides

Capitol Services' professional tour guides are chosen from a select group of the finest and most experienced guides in the area and many have worked with Capitol Services for over a decade.

Each of Capitol Services tour guides are licensed to conduct tours of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Our guides are continually tested on their knowledge of Washington and surrounding areas, and our policy mandates that they be re-certified on an annual basis.

Guides will complete the required Capitol Services evaluation form following each tour. This form will be sent to Capitol Services for review and will be entered into our database file.

Capitol Services guides are always dressed in a professional uniform. The Capitol Services tour uniform consists of a navy suit, green or white shirt and a Capitol Services name badge. Male guides are attired in navy jackets, white dress shirts, ties and dress slacks.

Our tour guides report to duty a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the contracted time of the tour.

Capitol Services has a large contingency of bilingual and multilingual guides who are fluent in foreign languages. Those languages available are: Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Flemish, French, German, Glaswegian, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Scandinavian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, and Yiddish. Sign Language is also available.
